This is a quick page I set up to explain what the accident looked like and how
everything went down. It happened around 3:10pm on Friday October 13th, 2000.
I was driving on highway 15 around the San Bernadino area I think. I had two
passangers, Lisa in the front seat and Bryan right behind her. Neither of them
were injured, although pretty shook up. I have some neck pains which kept me
from sleeping friday night, but I'll be alright soon.
Update 10-17 - Went to the chiropractor today and took a bunch of xrays. The
doc says that there is some inflamation to my shoulder and my neck is pretty
screwed up. There's also a little problem with my lower back. I'll be there
tomorrow to check the x-rays.
Update 10-23 - Dropped off the car at the shop to get fixed, they got a
$5000 estimate on the repairs but all I have to come up with is $500 for the
deductable. When the police report comes out with the other guy at fault,
which is probably some time later this week, I won't have to pay the deductable
which is good. I get a rental car tomorrow, must get insurance (CKY2K).

You can see what a mess we made. Truck one is the one flipped on the right. Truck
two, the guy that hit me, is right to the left of truck one. This was around 2
minutes after the accident. I ran across the freeway, which I think was the stupidest
thing I could do in hindsight.
The damage was directed to the side back door on the drivers side. I'm very lucky that
both passengers Lisa and Bryan were on the other side, or there might be more serious
injuries. The front door works fine, I don't want to try the back door, I doubt it will
close after I open it. The top of the door is a bit open, you can hear air come in.
There are a few dents on the passanger side, although I don't remember hitting the
question mark guy on the right. Then again, I wasn't looking at the right, I was looking
in the rear view mirror at the truck flying through the air. I think question mark guy was
a truck, the bumper mark is pretty high for a car and the sharp dent looks like a turn
indicator did it.
This is a pic of me posing with my g ride in front of Circus Circus. I always like to think
of the jetta as a G ride, but it was more Ghetto today than even. So I think the pic in front
of the ghetto Circus Circus was fitting. |
